  1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

AESN CARE Limited is formally committed to achieving Net Zero emissions across our entire UK care operations by 2040. This target places our organization five years ahead of the mandatory NHS supply chain roadmap (2045) and a full decade ahead of the UK Government’s statutory target (2050).

We believe that driving down carbon output is directly linked to protecting the public health, safety, and sensory baselines of the vulnerable neurodivergent adults within our assistive supported living designs.

  1. Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that were produced by this organization in the past, prior to the introduction of our carbon reduction strategies. Our baseline emissions serve as the reference point against which our greenhouse gas reduction targets are measured. Our baseline tracking mirrors our initial operational window following CQC registration in late May 2025.

Baseline Reporting Year: April 2025 – March 2026 (Active Operations From June 2025)

Emissions Category

Total Output (in tCO2e)

Scope 1 (Direct Emissions)

0.73 tCO2e

Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions)

0.66 tCO2e

Scope 3 (Mandatory Subsets Only)

4.02 tCO2e

  1. Current Reporting Period Projections

This data reflects our projected carbon emissions for the active April 2026 – March 2027 cycle, accounting for the planned occupancy transition of our supported living services.

Current Reporting Year: April 2026 – March 2027 (Projected)

Emissions Category

Total Output (in tCO2e)

Scope 1 (Direct Emissions)

0.60 tCO2e

Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions)

1.80 tCO2e

Scope 3 (Mandatory Subsets Only)

2.10 tCO2e

Total Projected Emissions

4.50 tCO2e

Statutory Accounting Note on 2026/2027 Projections: Because our 5-bed clustered supported living facility at UB5 was vacant during the 2025/2026 baseline cycle, our Scope 2 electricity consumption will experience a calculated increase as tenants transition into active occupancy during the 2026/2027 period. To mitigate this, our future intensity metrics are tied directly to an “Emissions Per Resident” calculation standard, ensuring that our carbon efficiency improves even as our utility footprints scale up.

  1. Detailed Emissions Breakdown & Accounting Methodology

Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): 0.73 tCO2e Baseline

  • Company Fleet Vehicles (0.00 tCO2e): AESN CARE Limited does not own, lease, or operate any corporate combustion vehicles. 100% of transport configurations are outsourced or public-network based.
  • Property Gas Utilities (0.73 tCO2e): Reflects the baseline natural gas consumption required strictly for standing charges and frost-protection heating to preserve the structural fabric of our vacant property at UB5.

Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions): 0.66 tCO2e Baseline

  • Shared Office Pro-Rata Share (0.25 tCO2e): Calculated from our proportional, square-footage share of grid electricity consumed at our UB11 shared managed head office workspace, supporting our 2 permanent office personnel.
  • Property Standing Power (0.41 tCO2e): Accounts for standing electricity draw needed to keep primary security, fire panel networks, and baseline environmental controls active at our vacant UB5 5PY site.

Scope 3 (Mandatory Corporate Supply Chain Subsets): 2.63 tCO2e Baseline

  • Category 4: Upstream Transportation (0.00 tCO2e): Zero-emissions tier. As a person-centred social care provider, we do not procure, freight, or move wholesale raw physical commodities.
  • Category 5: Waste Generated in Operations (0.05 tCO2e): Represents minimal domestic/office waste and paper usage, heavily mitigated by our shared building setup and digital-first management approach at the head office.
  • Category 6: Business Travel (1.38 tCO2e): Tracks our frontline support workers utilizing TfL public transport networks (London buses and trains) to travel between community domiciliary outreach client locations.
  • Category 7: Employee Commuting (1.20 tCO2e): Captures the localized public transport and small-vehicle commuting patterns of our core office administrative staff traveling to the UB11 headquarters.
  • Category 9: Downstream Transportation (0.00 tCO2e): Zero-rated tier. AESN CARE Limited delivers healthcare and supported living services directly to human individuals; we do not manufacture, package, or distribute commercial products to downstream markets.

  1. Emission Reduction Targets

Despite our expanding operational capacity as we welcome residents into our supported living program, AESN CARE Limited enforces a strict target to reduce our overall carbon intensity. We project that our structural emissions will decrease to a lean 2.01 tCO2e by 2031, representing an absolute 50% reduction across equivalent operational baselines over a five-year horizon.

  1. Carbon Reduction Initiatives & Environmental Management

6.1 Implemented Environmental Measures (Active Controls)

Since achieving our CQC registration in May 2025, AESN CARE Limited has maintained a low carbon footprint through the following strict structural constraints:

  • Shared Office Asset Efficiency: Operating from a shared managed office provider at our UB11 Head Office ensures that heating, cooling, and structural infrastructure are managed centrally, eliminating the massive energy waste associated with a standalone commercial corporate building.
  • Zero-Vehicle Fleet Constraints: We do not own or operate a company car fleet. 100% of our frontline care workers utilize low-emission TfL public transport networks (buses and trains) to commute to and from our community domiciliary outreach visits.
  • Vacant Estate Controls: During the vacancy phase of our property at UB5 5PY, heating systems were locked onto frost-protection settings, and non-essential appliances were disconnected to minimize baseline energy pull.

6.2 Planned Future Environmental Measures (The 2026/2027 Roadmap)

To meet our target thresholds as our service options scale up, we are executing the following measures across the current reporting period:

  • Phased Paperless Transition (Target: December 2026): We are actively executing a formal roadmap to move our operational frameworks entirely away from physical paper logs. By deploying an NHS-accredited Digital Social Care Record (DSCR) ecosystem paired with our secure Google Workspace mobile infrastructure by late 2026, we will move daily shift records, fluid charts, behavior tracking matrices, and automated rota distributions entirely to secure digital formats. This measure will deliver a projected 75% reduction in office paper consumption and localized recycling waste streams.
  • Green Procurement Frameworks (UB5 5PY occupancy launch): As tenants transition into our 5-bed facility, all newly procured white goods, laboratory kitchen hardware, and laundry assets will carry a minimum energy performance rating of EU Class A.
  • Roster Route Optimization: We will integrate geo-mapping tools into our shift-scheduling loops to group community domiciliary outreach visits tightly by neighborhood, significantly reducing the mileage and travel hours clocked by our field support team on public networks.
